Abortion in Antalya

Abortion (Curettage) is a surgical procedure that is performed to terminate an unwanted pregnancy or a desired but unhealthy pregnancy. This procedure is actually a surgically induced miscarriage.

Abortion is the process of penetration into the uterus through the cervix with suitable plastic vacuum cannulas and evacuation of the inside of the uterus by suction of the contents of the uterus, i.e. the fetus and the afterbirth. The procedure is painless and normal activities can be continued during the day.

In addition to the medical method, the surgical method can also be used for abortion. Patients undergo a gynecological examination before the abortion is applied. If a general anaesthetic is performed during the procedure, the patient is informed by the anaesthetist or technician. Then anesthesia is applied through the vein access on the patient's arm. Thus, the patient is anaesthetized and prepared for the procedure.

After the patient has been anaesthetized, the vagina is opened with a speculum, i.e. medical instruments. The cervix is made visible and the area is cleaned with an antiseptic. Finally, the fetus or embryo is removed from the uterus. Depending on the patient's condition, different curettage techniques can be used.
